We’ve fixed this issue with our hardware & backing plate kit that comes with this mount. This kit is even compatible with grid style dash brackets for added convenience.

INCREASED DURABILITY UNDER HEAVY LOAD (THICKER AMPS PLATE & STRONGER CONNECTION) - Thin AMPS Plates are a common weak point in 20mm AMPS Mounts. When the mounting plate connecting to the ball is too thin, it can lead to screws pulling through the plate under heavy loads over time. Our plate is 50% thicker than some competitors, with more durable hardware connecting the ball to the amps plate for increased reliability.

IMPROVED BALL AND SOCKET CONNECTION (PRECISELY MACHINED, PERFECTLY ROUND AND GROOVED) - We take pride in our precise machining process. Our ball is machined to a tolerance of +/- .005”, with grooves that are specifically designed to meet strict standards and carry heavy loads in both mobile and stationary applications. Poor quality machining and groove patterns can compromise the integrity of the 20mm system.
